Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on April 12, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of suicide among Indigenous peoples and communities.

Sheila North Wilson, Derek Joseph Nepinak and Candice Paul made statements and answered questions.

At 8:45 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 8:50 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Bernard Richard, by videoconference from Victoria, British Columbia, and Carol Hopkins, by teleconference from Bothwell, Ontario, made statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, — That, as part of the study on suicide among Indigenous peoples and communities, the Quebec Coroner’s Office’s Report of Inquest Concerning the Deaths of Charles Junior Grégoire-Vollant, Marie-Marthe Grégoire, Alicia Grace Sandy, Céline Michel-Rock and Nadeige Guanish be filed as an exhibit with the Clerk of the Committee and be posted on the Committee’s web page.

At 10:45 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
