Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2017-18: Votes 1 and 5 under Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Votes 1 and 5 under Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Votes 1, 5 and 10 under Department of Health, Vote 1 under Patented Medicine Prices Review Board and Votes 1, 5 and 10 under Public Health Agency of Canada, referred to the Committee on Thursday, February 23, 2017.

The Chair called Vote 1 under Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The minister made a statement and, with Paul Glover, Michel Perron, Simon Kennedy and Theresa Tam, answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

On motion of Colin Carrie, it was agreed, — That, in relation to the study on thalidomide, the members of the Committee submit to the Clerk of the Committee, by Friday, April 7, 2017, by the end of the day, their lists of witnesses.

At 12:51 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
