Sonia Sidhu moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee call upon the Minister of Health to move as quickly as possible to conduct a review of the laws and regulations in place with regard to safe injection sites; and that this review should have as an end goal to improve the health and safety of Canadians, using a strong, evidence-based approach.
Colin Carrie moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “safe injection sites” by “consumption sites”, by adding the words “be reported back to the Committee” after the words “This review should” and by adding the words “that strengthens consultations with communities who will be affected” after the words “evidence-based approach”.
After debate, the question was put on the amendment of Colin Carrie and it was negatived, by a show of hands: YEAS: 2; NAYS: 6.
Ron McKinnon moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “safe injection sites” by “supervised consumption sites”.

Don Davies moved, — That the motion be amended by adding the words “and that the Minister be obligated to report back to the Committee on the result of her review” after the words “supervised consumption sites”.

The motion, as amended, read as follows:
