Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of the Atlantic Canada commercial vessel length and licensing policies.

Jane Weldon and Jean L. Laporte made statements and, with Luc Tremblay and Marc-André Poisson, answered questions.

At 9:46 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:48 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Jason Sullivan, John Will Brazil, Ryan Cleary and Mervin Wiseman made statements and answered questions.

On motion of Mel Arnold, it was agreed, — That the Committee be provided with the expected and/or typical timeline for new stability assessment for various sized fishing vessels and the risk assessment process the Department of Transport and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans use to determine timeline and requirements for stability assessments for vessels that have been modified.

At 10:50 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
