Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of the impact of the rapid increase of the striped bass in the Miramichi River and the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Striped Bass in the Southern Gulf of St. Lawrence and Miramichi River: Striking a Delicate Balance".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee's order of Monday, May 13, 2019, pertaining to the deadline for submission of proposed amendments to Bill S-238, An Act to amend the Fisheries Act and the Wild Animal and Plant Protection and Regulation of International and Interprovincial Trade Act (importation and exportation of shark fins), be discharged.

It was agreed, — That the members of the Committee submit to the Clerk of the Committee all of their proposed amendments to Bill S-238, An Act to amend the Fisheries Act and the Wild Animal and Plant Protection and Regulation of International and Interprovincial Trade Act (importation and exportation of shark fins), no later than 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the consideration of Bill S-238, An Act to amend the Fisheries Act and the Wild Animal and Plant Protection and Regulation of International and Interprovincial Trade Act (importation and exportation of shark fins), the members of the Committee submit to the Clerk of the Committee their list of suggested witnesses no later than 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.

At 3:59 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:24 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.
