Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, April 14, 2016, the Committee commenced its study of Canada Revenue Agency’s efforts to combat tax avoidance and evasion

Gregory Wiebe made a statement and answered questions.

Motion

Pierre-Luc Dusseault moved, — That the Committee compel KPMG to provide documents indicating the names of clients who used the Isle of Man tax sheltering scheme and the names of KPMG employees responsible for the development and marketing of the tax scheme.

It was agreed, — That consideration of Pierre-Luc Dusseault's motion be postponed until consideration of Committee Business at 12:30 p.m.

At 12:35 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:41 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

The Committee resumed consideration of the motion of Pierre-Luc Dusseault, — That the Committee compel KPMG to provide documents indicating the names of clients who used the Isle of Man tax sheltering scheme and the names of KPMG employees responsible for the development and marketing of the tax scheme.

The debate continued.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $ 3,500.00, for the study of the Canada Revenue Agency's efforts to combat tax avoidance and evasion, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $ 500.00, for the study of the Main Estimates 2016-17, Votes 1 and 5 under Canada Revenue Agency, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That consideration of Pierre-Luc Dusseault's motion be postponed until the next meeting on Thursday, May 5, 2016.

At 1:04 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
