Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2019-20: Votes 1, 5 and 10 under Department for Women and Gender Equality, referred to the Committee on Thursday, April 11, 2019.

The Chair called Vote 1 under Department for Women and Gender Equality.

The Minister made a statement and answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

Rachael Harder moved, — That the Committee invite the Minister for Women and Gender Equality to brief the Committee on her new mandate, given that Status of Women Canada has changed to the Department for Women and Gender Equality; that the Minister appear no later than Thursday, June 13, 2019; that this meeting be no less than one hour in length; and that it be televised.

Debate arose thereon.

Salma Zahid moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 6; NAYS: 3.
