Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of Canada's engagement in Asia.

Charles Burton, Paul Evans, by videoconference from Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Pitman Potter, by videoconference from Vancouver, British Columbia, made statements and answered questions.

At 4:25 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:30 p.m., the sitting resumed.

David Matas, Ngodup Tsering, by videoconference from Washington, D.C., and Yonglin Chen, by videoconference from Sydney, Australia, made statements and answered questions.

At 5:17 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:17 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

At 5:17 p.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

At 5:21 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
