Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 9, 2017, the Committee commenced its study of the Provision of assistance to Canadians in difficulty abroad (Consular Affairs).

Heather Jeffrey made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 12:53 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:56 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Committee Business
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee host a working dinner with Ojars Kalninš, Chairman, Foreign Affairs Committee of the 12th Saeima (Latvian Parliament), on Monday, October 30, 2017.

At 12:57 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
