Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to a briefing from the Global fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

Françoise Vanni and Loyce Maturu made statements and, with Scott Boule, answered questions.

At 9:49 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:57 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $36,900, for the study of threats to liberal democracy in Europe, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $4,000, for the briefing for the global fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $37,950, for the study of women human rights defenders, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That hospitality be provided by the Committee for an informal lunch with Rihards Kols on May 8, 2019, and that the Clerk make all the necessary arrangements.

It was agreed, — That, in addition to the 50 copies printed by the House, the Committee print 25 additional English and French copies of the report on Canada’s sovereignty in the Arctic, as well as 25 Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, Gwich’in, and Dogrib (Wiiliideh) copies of the recommendations and executive summary, and that all copies be printed in full colour.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, December 10, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of Canada's role in international support for democratic development.

The Committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a report.

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee make the necessary arrangements for a press conference to be held after the tabling of the Committee's report to the House on Canada's Sovereignty in the Arctic; and that the Committee be represented by the Chair and a representative from each party.

At 10:18 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
