Committee Business
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That consular and parliamentary staff from the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development be permitted to attend the meeting.

Briefing with the Canadian Ambassador to China
• Hon. John McCallum, Ambassador of Canada to the People's Republic of China
Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development
• Heather Jeffrey, Assistant Deputy Minister, Consular, Emergency Management and Security
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, January 17, 2019, the Committee proceeded to a briefing with the Canadian Ambassador to China.

John McCallum made a statement and, with Heather Jeffrey, answered questions.

At 11:17 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
