Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study of the impact of tariffs on Canadian businesses, companies and workers.

On motion of Dean Allison, it was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $18,500, for the study of the impact of tariffs on Canadian businesses, companies and workers, be adopted.

On motion of Tracey Ramsey, it was agreed, — That the Committee continue to hear from Canadians on the impact of tariffs on Canadian businesses, companies and workers (in the context of the current Canada-U.S. trade dispute) by inviting affected Canadians to submit briefs to the Committee; that briefs be accepted until Tuesday, July 31, 2018; and that the Committee report its findings to the House.

Sean Donnelly, Flavio Volpe, John White, Bob Verwey and Ken Neumann made statements and answered questions.

At 10:40 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:47 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Larry Rousseau, Joseph Galimberti, Conrad Winkler and Stephen Young made statements and answered questions.

At 11:43 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:54 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Jerry Dias, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, James Paschini, Mathew Wilson and Robert Dimitrieff made statements and, with Angelo DiCaro, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, answered questions.

At 12:53 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
