Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motions adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, and Thursday, October 26, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of climate change and water and soil conservation issues.

Brian T. Gray and Tom Rosser made statements and answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

John Barlow moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee undertake a study of the renewed Trans-pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement and take into consideration the opportunities available to the agricultural sector given the withdrawal of the United States from the trade deal; and that the Committee report its findings to the House.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:

YEAS: John Barlow, Luc Berthold, Sylvie Boucher, Karine Trudel — 4;

NAYS: Francis Drouin, Lloyd Longfield, Eva Nassif, Joe Peschisolido, Salma Zahid — 5.

The Committee resumed consideration of climate change and water and soil conservation issues. Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 5:27 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
