A meeting of the Board of Internal Economy of the House of Commons was held on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 11:15 a.m., in Room 112-N, Centre Block.

Present: The Honourables Peter Van Loan, Gordon O'Connor and Rob Merrifield; Mr. Nathan Cullen; Mrs. Nycole Turmel and Ms. Judy Foote

Tabling of Minutes

The minutes of the meeting of April 22, 2013 were approved for tabling .

Minutes of Previous Meeting

The minutes of the meeting of April 29, 2013 were adopted.

Administration

The Board took note of the arbitral awards rendered by the Public Service Labour Relations Board (PSLRB) following collective bargaining for the Operational Group bargaining unit and for the Scanner Group bargaining unit.

Sir John A. Macdonald Building Rehabilition Project

The Board was briefed on the Sir John A. Macdonald Building Rehabilitation Project.

Administration

The Board approved a pilot deployment of a limited number of Members and party staff of the House of Commons of BlackBerry 10 devices, the pilot project to be funded internally and conducted from June to December 2013.

The Board considered a request from PDM Entertainment to have access to the House of Commons for its film adaptation of the novel entitled, The Best Laid Plans. The Board agreed to grant limited access for filming only to public areas in Centre Block .
