Emergency Debate

Pursuant to Standing Order 52, Mr. Layton (Toronto—Danforth) asked leave to move the adjournment of the House for the purpose of discussing a specific and important matter requiring urgent consideration, namely, the situation in Sri Lanka.

The Speaker decided that the matter was proper to be discussed and, pursuant to Standing Order 52(9), directed that it be considered later today, at the ordinary hour of daily adjournment.
