The Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met in camera at 10:53 a.m. this day, in Room 701 La Promenade Building, the Chair, Bernard Patry, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Dan McTeague, Bernard Patry and Kevin Sorenson.

 

Acting Members present: Bev Desjarlais for Alexa McDonough and Pierre A. Paquette for Francine Lalonde.

 

Other Members present: John Cannis.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Gerald Schmitz, Principal Analyst; Marcus Pistor, Analyst.

 

Participants present: House of Commons: Barbara Whittaker, Acting Project Manager, Web Development and Publishing.

 
The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee consider issues related to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and invite the Executive Director to appear on February 24, 2005.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee consider issues related to the World Bank and invite its President to appear on March 24, 2005, or on such other date as may be agreed upon with the Chair in respecting the Committee's schedule.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee examine in detail and make decisions on the Proposed Work Plan for the Committee's Study of the International Policy Review and Government Statement (revised January 2005) and in particular the matter of the “Creation of an E-Consultation Area” on the Committee's web site.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee concur with the carrying out of a study on Emerging Markets by the Subcommittee on International Trade, Trade Disputes and Investment and note that the study contributes to the Committee's intended study on the Goverment's International Policy Review.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair communicate with members with regard to the expeditious reception and distribution of substantive motions for consideration by the Committee.

 

At 12:03 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
