The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met in a televised session at 11:07 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D Centre Block, the Vice-Chair, Paul Szabo, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Ken Boshcoff, Marcel Gagnon, Diane Marleau, Pat Martin, Russ Powers, Joe Preston, Francis Scarpaleggia, Paul Szabo and Louise Thibault.

 

Acting Members present: Dean Allison for Randy White and Pierre Poilievre for Leon E. Benoit.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jack Stilborn, Analyst; Philippe Le Goff, Analyst; Tara Gray, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Public Service Commission of Canada: Maria Barrados, President; Anne-Marie Robinson, Vice-President, Corporate Management Branch. Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada: Michelle Chartrand, President. Canada School of Public Service: Janice Cochrane, President.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 4, 2004, the Committee commenced its study of the role and mandate of the Public Service Commission, the Public Service Human Resources Management Agency and the Canada School of Public Service.
 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(7), the Committee commenced consideration of the Report on Plans and Priorities 2004-2005.
 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2004-2005: Votes 10, 45 and 50 under Privy Council referred to the Committee on October 8, 2004.
 

Michelle Chartrand, Janice Cochrane and Maria Barrados made statements and, with Anne Marie Robinson, answered questions.

 

At 12:53 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
