Presenting Reports from Committees

Mr. Murray (Lanark -- Carleton), from the Standing Committee on Industry, presented the First Report of this Committee (Bill C-4, An Act to implement the Agreement among the Government of Canada, Governments of Member States of the European Space Agency, the Government of Japan, the Government of the Russian Federation, and the Government of the United States of America concerning Cooperation on the Civil International Space Station and to make related amendments to other Acts, with one amendment). -- Sessional Paper No. 8510-362-2.

Introduction of Government Bills

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Dhaliwal (Minister of Fisheries and Oceans) for Mr. Nault (Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development), seconded by Mr. Cauchon (Minister of National Revenue), Bill C-14, An Act respecting an agreement with the Norway House Cree Nation for the settlement of matters arising from the flooding of land, and respecting the establishment of certain reserves in the province of Manitoba, was introduced, read the first time and ordered to be printed.

Pursuant to Order made Thursday, October 14, 1999, the Bill (previously Bill C-56, 1st Session, 36th Parliament) was deemed to have been read the second time, referred to a committee and reported without amendment.

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. White (North Vancouver), seconded by Mr. Gouk (Kootenay -- Boundary -- Okanagan), Bill C-311, An Act to promote the use of plain language in federal statutes and regulations, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.
