Does the government have a plan to increase the federal role in passenger train service, and in particular, what progress has been made on plans to return VIA service to Peterborough and other communities in Ontario?

With regard to the involvement of Canadians (as distinct from Canada) in activities in the Antarctic, can the government: (a) provide a list of these Canadian activities; (b) indicate if it monitors these in any way and if so, how; and (c) estimate its share of the cost of these same activities?

With respect to the Antarctic Treaty System: (a) what does Canada contribute; (b) which federal department is in charge; and (c) what is the total cost incurred by Canada?
