Regarding the status of CFB Bagotville, does the government have any plans or, if there is no plan, has there been or are there on-going discussions or consideration being given: (a) to close the base; (b) to eliminate or reduce any of its capabilities and/or personnel strength; or (c) to change its role or function?

With respect to the poisoning case of ex-Warrant Officer Matthew Stopford while in Croatia in 1993 and investigated by the Military Police Complaints Commission: (a) how many of the soldiers involved with the coffee tampering allegations remained in the Armed Forces after the allegations were made and are they still serving; (b) have the soldiers involved with the coffee tampering allegations been disciplined regarding this matter and if so, how were they disciplined; (c) when was Mr. Stopford informed of the poisoning and why did the Department of National Defence wait that period to inform him; and (d) when will the government make an offer suitable to Mr. Stopford to settle this matter?

Further to correspondence dated August 31, 2004, with the Minister of National Defence concerning the property of Mr. Ronald Mayhew, which sits adjacent to the Dwyer Hill Training Centre: (a) is it the intention of the Department of National Defence (DND) to acquire this land and, if not, will they restore Mr. Mayhew’s land to its original state and compensate him for his lost business; or (b) if DND does want the land, will they provide Mr. Mayhew with an equivalent acreage in the same general area or purchase it at fair market value and compensate him for his lost business?
