With regard to the Firearms Compensation Program and the 1-833-759-4551 telephone line at the program's dedicated contact centre: (a) do government employees answer the telephone line above, or has a third-party been contracted to take the information from firearms owners; (b) what are the details of each contract awarded by the government in relation to the contact centre or the compensation program, including, for each, the (i) date of the contract, (ii) value, (iii) vendor, (iv) goods or services provided, (v) manner in which the contract was awarded (sole-sourced or competitive bid); (c) what safeguards are in place to ensure that any information provided by firearms owners is not retained in the possession of third parties, including those contracted by the government; (d) how can the government ensure the privacy and protection of information collected through the program by third parties; and (e) will the third parties contracted by the government be liable for any privacy breaches, and will compensation be offered to any firearms owners whose information is compromised as a result of the government's decision to outsource certain elements of the compensation program?
