With regard to the recent flooding in Sri Lanka and Canada’s humanitarian response: (a) what assessments has the government conducted to determine the extent of damage and humanitarian need in the hardest-hit regions; (b) of the regions identified in (a), how many (i) have received direct Canadian assistance to date, (ii) have not received any direct Canadian assistance; (c) will the government be establishing a federal matching fund for charitable donations responding to the flooding; (d) if the answer to (c) is affirmative, what is the timeline for implementation, and if the answer to (c) is negative, what are the reasons for not establishing such a program; (e) what measures are being taken to ensure that assistance is allocated proportionally to (i) the hardest-hit areas, (ii) ethnic and religious minority communities; and (f) what support, financial or technical, is the government providing to assist in the investigation of recently identified mass graves in Sri Lanka?
