Okay.
The long-term health of our agriculture is something that is particularly close to my heart. You talked about the psychological distress of our producers. I know that a report was submitted and that it contains recommendations.
Can you tell us a little more about how things are going?

We submitted a report with a number of recommendations. Can you tell us a little more about what is going to be happening with those recommendations?

Okay.
I would like to know a little bit more about the process of reviewing flagged videos, and who reviews them when it's not done by a computer.
Also, are the workers reviewing these videos provided with any services, because having to listen to these kinds of things all the time causes a lot of distress to people? What services are you providing to these workers to make sure they do not go crazy from listening to all of these things all the time?

With all due respect, Minister, we're not talking about a woman fleeing a bad situation. We're talking about a current situation where a woman is still missing, and the mom, the dad and the family are looking for support for mental health, police support and other support. She's not alone. There are other women across Canada, I'm pretty sure. What is the government doing to address that specific support system required?

Yes.
What is the best advice that you could give us now that we could include in our report so that the government can act on this issue?
What's the top priority for you?

I understand the importance of it and, as you know, my parliamentary secretary takes this file very seriously, and he is feeding me this subject. Yesterday I thought it was important to include it while talking about the canola farmers.
You are right that we have to do it in collaboration with the provinces since they are responsible for public health. It's a work in progress.
The other thing on which we will have to work with the provinces is the school food program. It's not related to mental health, but both of these subjects will be part of the conversation we need to have with the provinces.

The Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority conducts training programs for its communities, including a First Nations mental health first aid course, harm reduction training, and various webinar presentations.
How does the training you provide contribute to capacity building and talent retention on the reserves?

I am on your website. You show 43 openings for jobs. A mental health counsellor makes $76,767 a year. This was posted four months ago. Have you filled that position?

See, here's the issue; you have 43 jobs, ranging from mental health to privacy officer. I mean, that's 43 jobs. Some of these go on for months. Like I said, this one was posted four months ago. Have you had any leads to bring people to your community?

How many mental health counsellors do you need? I see two job openings for them listed on your website. How many do you have?

Good morning, everyone.
It is a pleasure to welcome everyone to the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights for our study of Bill C-417, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (disclosure of information by jurors).
It is a great pleasure to welcome our colleague Michael Cooper, as well as someone whom we've all heard from before, Mark Farrant, to talk about this bill, which stems from a study done by this committee. I want to thank both of the witnesses for agreeing to testify and for helping to bring forward this important bill.
I'll now turn the floor over to Mr. Cooper.

Okay.
One objective of the diversity strategy's action plan is to increase awareness of mental health issues in order to eliminate the associated stigma. How is awareness being raised and what are the results?

I'm more preoccupied with the mental health services, because for those who have issues I think that's probably the most urgent thing they need once they're released.

A witness told us earlier that there was a lack of support on the ground. In what way could the government offer agricultural support to young indigenous people?
