A message was received informing the Commons that on June 3, 2021, at 6:34 p.m., His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of Canada signified royal assent by written declaration to the following bills:
Bill S-223, An Act respecting Kindness Week — Chapter No. 9;
Bill S-3, An Act to amend the Offshore Health and Safety Act — Chapter No. 10;
Bill C-5, An Act to amend the Bills of Exchange Act, the Interpretation Act and the Canada Labour Code (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation) — Chapter No. 11.

Pursuant to order made Thursday, May 13, 2021, the order was read for the second reading and reference to a committee of the whole of Bill S-223, An Act respecting Kindness Week.
Mr. Barrett (Leeds—Grenville—Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes), seconded by Ms. Lambropoulos (Saint-Laurent), moved, — That the bill be now read a second time and referred to a committee of the whole.

By unanimous consent, it was ordered, — That, notwithstanding any standing order, special order or usual practices of the House, on Friday, May 14, 2021, at the ordinary hour of daily adjournment, the House shall consider and dispose of Bill S-223, An Act respecting Kindness Week, as follows: a member from each recognized party and a member from the Green Party may speak for not more than 10 minutes on the motion for second reading and, at the conclusion of the time provided for the debate, or when no member rises to speak, whichever is earlier, the bill shall be deemed to have been read a second time and referred to a committee of the whole, deemed considered in committee of the whole, deemed reported without amendment, deemed concurred in at report stage and deemed read a third time and passed, and the House shall adjourn until the next sitting day.
