When we ask questions, we do not get answers. So I am trying to be creative, so that we get answers. In this case, the answer was obviously “Who is the Parliamentary Budget Officer?” By the way, I would like to commend his entire team and thank them for their excellent work.
The next question is worth $80. Who are we? We have been demanding that the government present its economic update for over a month now.

Mr. Chair, as I understand it, the hon. member is asking a question and answering it himself. So he does not need to come here.

Mr. Chair, we are trying to be creative. When we ask questions in their classic form, we do not get answers. We are told that the economic situation is too uncertain.
Quebec will present its economic update. The Parliamentary Budget Officer says it is urgent. We have been asking for it for a month now. It makes no sense.
Who has been requesting the update for more than a month? The Bloc Québécois and the opposition parties. It is high time it was done.
I am going to ask one last question. Who am I? I am committed today to providing an economic update by the end of the month. Who am I?

Madam Chair, it's the way it's being done that's the problem.
We'll stop sitting in two weeks. Will the government provide an economic update by then?

Madam Chair, being transparent with Canadians is very important.
When the situation is more stable, we'll have an opportunity to explain our economic situation.

Madam Chair, I have to say that if the minister had said yes, it would have started the week off really well.
The economy is starting to recover. We're slowly moving towards a recovery. At the very least, we need to know the state of the situation, which includes a picture of the economic situation and all the government's emergency measures, and whether or not it intends to extend them over the summer. It also needs to tell us how it plans to do it. As the minister said, the government needs to be transparent.
Why isn't the government giving us an update?
I don't understand it. Is the government scared? Is it hiding something from us?
I'd like him to explain this to me.

Madam Chair, I'd like to thank the hon. member for his very important question.
We want to have a transparent approach and more information for Canadians.
Soon, when the situation is more stable, we will have an opportunity to explain our economic situation.

Does “soon” mean “within the next two weeks”?

Madam Chair, as I said, we're in the process of looking at the stability of the economy. Of course, it's important to be transparent about our situation.

Thank you, Madam Chair.
We've been making this request for more than a month. It's been a month since the Parliamentary Budget Officer urged the government to quickly submit an economic update. It would be good if it were to happen within the next two weeks.

Madam Chair, I understand the question.
Of course, we're transparent every day about our investments. I fully agree, it is always necessary to be transparent about our economic situation. We are waiting until the situation is stable enough to give precise explanations.

Minister, when can Parliament, or this semblance of it, see that plan for economic prosperity?

Thank you, Mr. Chair.
We've been quite clear that we need to be transparent on a daily basis by giving Canadians an understanding of the investments that we're making through this pandemic. Once the situation is more stable economically, we will certainly be coming forward with a broader plan.

Thank you, Mr. Chair.
Regardless of the COVID-19 pandemic, the last time I checked, we still had a democratic system and the government had to remain accountable.
The government needs to present a picture of the economic situation and a picture of its overall emergency measures. Does the government intend to extend the measures over the summer? If so, how will it do so? The government must also present its working scenarios for the economic recovery. The government needs to be transparent.
When will the government provide its economic update?
