Mr. Speaker, as I said many times, and what the hon. member does not seem to realize, is that we have been in talks with Rendez-vous naval de Québec for a long time now. Things are moving along.
Canada 150 has to be a celebration for all Canadians, including those from Quebec. The hon. member needs to be patient and understand that the organizers of Rendez-vous naval de Québec are very pleased with us and the fact that we included them in budget 2015. They are ready to move forward and so are we.

Mr. Speaker, as I have said many times in the House, our country's 150th anniversary will include all Canadians, including Quebeckers. We have already had discussions with them. As I have already said, we already provided funding for a pilot project for the tall ships in road to 2017.
We will continue to enjoy planning our 2017 celebrations with all Canadians in all provinces and territories.

Mr. Speaker, Canada's history is one of risk, sacrifice and determination. Canadians have triumphed over all manner of adversity to build a strong, proud and free country.
As we approach our 150th anniversary in 2017, our Conservative government will join Canadians in celebrating this important historic moment, and Quebec City will be part of that.

Mr. Speaker, the 150th anniversary of Confederation is an event that will be celebrated across the country. We are still waiting for an announcement, and we encourage all municipalities and provinces, as well as all organizations, to plan their events in order to celebrate this occasion with tremendous pride.
Since we are talking about this event, I should say that we are on our way to 2017. We are celebrating a number of events now.

Mr. Speaker, I believe my colleague is referring to the current advertising campaign for the 150th anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference and the Quebec Conference.
I do not understand why the Liberals do not want to celebrate these two conferences that are so important for our country and for all Canadians.
We are approaching the 150th anniversary of our country and we will continue to plan this celebration. However, at the same time, we will be celebrating the Quebec Conference and the Charlottetown Conference with a great deal of pride.

Mr. Speaker, that is just nonsense. We are proud of Canada. We are proud of the 150th anniversary that will be coming in 2017.
What the member is referring to is some recent advertising campaigns about the Charlottetown and Quebec conferences, which in fact are celebrating 150 years in 2014. We are proud of them. We are proud of Canada. It is a country strong, proud and free. It is too bad they do not appreciate it.

Mr. Speaker, as I just said, the current advertising campaign is highlighting the 150th anniversary of the Charlottetown and Quebec conferences.
Without those two conferences, there would be no Canada or Confederation to celebrate in 2017, so we are pleased to acknowledge the contributions of those two conferences, which in fact have their 150th anniversary in 2014. Why does the opposition not want to celebrate them?

Mr. Speaker, Canada's history is one of risk, sacrifice, and determination. Canadians have triumphed over all manner of adversity to build a strong, proud, and free country. The 150th anniversary of Confederation will be a celebration of the whole country.
We are proud to have carried out consultations. I would like to know why the member and his party missed the opportunity to consult Canadians in their ridings. For our part, we will proudly continue to prepare for this celebration.

Mr. Speaker, as my colleague knows, the museums make their own operational decisions.
Let us talk about the 150th anniversary of our country, which will celebrate and commemorate Canada's achievements from coast to coast. It will be a success across the country as a result of the consultations we have held with Canadians. In fact, consultations are still ongoing. We have held at least 20 round tables.
I urge my colleague and his party to hold consultations. They have not held any in their ridings. I therefore urge them to do so and to share with us their constituents' ideas.

Mr. Speaker, my department is working on plans to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation. In a few days we will be launching consultations in Canada.
As for the logo for Government of Canada activities, we are listening to what Canadians have to say. We will continue with our planning. This will be an extraordinary celebration for our entire country.

Mr. Speaker, for the benefit of all Canadians, this government has done a lot to ensure Canadians' voices are heard. When we plan the 150th anniversary of our country, I can assure Canadians that their voices will again be heard. Whether it be the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the national flag, whether it be the commemoration of First and Second World War events, whether it be the celebration of the Charlottetown and Quebec conferences, Canadians can count on this Conservative government to be present and listening.
While the NDP may stay home, we are going to be there celebrating the 150th with all Canadians.
