Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague from Davenport for her speech.
I want to get to this question about pharmacare again, as I have been concerned. The Minister of Health recently said to the media that she is not certain that the current government can bring in universal pharmacare. An overwhelming number of voters chose parties that had pharmacare in their platform. The New Democrats, the Greens and the Liberals all promised that universal pharmacare could be accomplished.
I wonder if my hon. colleague from Davenport, who has spoken about the work that has already started with the formulary, can assure Canadians that we will establish a national plan of bulk-buying pharmaceutical drugs to bring down prices. The provinces could then decide if they want to buy from that. I was disturbed by the comment from the Minister of Health that somehow nothing could move unless all provinces were on board.
