Petition to the Government of Canada
- The Canadian Human Rights Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of personal characteristics that include race, national or ethnic origin, and religion;
- House of Commons petition e-6783 introduced January 7, 2026 calls upon the Government of Canada to "(a) initiate investigations under the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Act into Canadian citizens and residents who served in the Israel Defence Forces, and if warranted, lay charges or refer to international courts; (b) direct the Canada Border Services Agency to screen Canadian citizens/residents returning from Israel for foreign military service; (c) investigate the HESEG Foundation for violations of section 11(1) of Canada’s Foreign Enlistment Act; and (d) issue warnings that Canadians serving/volunteering with the IDF may face criminal liability under Canadian law"; and
- The implementation of the requests set out in petition e-6783 would have the necessary effect of subjecting Jewish Canadians and Canadians of Israeli origin to discriminatory treatment contrary to the Canadian Human Rights Act.
