Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2026-27: Vote 1 under House of Commons, Vote 1 under Leaders' Debates Commission, Vote 1 under Office of the Chief Electoral Officer and Vote 1 under Parliamentary Protective Service, referred to the committee on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

The Chair called Vote 1 under House of Commons.

Francis Scarpaleggia made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 12:26 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 12:31 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Vote 1 under House of Commons, Vote 1 under Leaders' Debates Commission, Vote 1 under Office of the Chief Electoral Officer and Vote 1 under Parliamentary Protective Service carried on division.

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Vote 1 under House of Commons, Vote 1 under Leaders' Debates Commission, Vote 1 under Office of the Chief Electoral Officer and Vote 1 under Parliamentary Protective Service to the House.

It was agreed, — That for the consideration of Bill C-25, An Act to amend the Canada Elections Act and to enact An Act to change the names of certain electoral districts, 2026, the committee hold three meetings: Tuesday, May 5, 2026, with the Minister and officials; and Thursday, May 7, 2026, and Tuesday, May 26, 2026, with witnesses; that the committee begin clause by clause consideration of the bill on Thursday, May 28, 2026; that the deadline for submitting witness lists be Friday, May 1, 2026, at noon; and that the deadline for submitting amendments be Monday, May 25, 2026, at noon.

At 12:34 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
