Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the committee commenced consideration of the report on the Canada Revenue Agency Contact Centres, of the 2025 Fall Reports of the Auditor General of Canada.

Karen Hogan and Bob Hamilton made opening statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

Motion

Kristina Tesser Derksen moved, — Given that the Minister of Finance and National Revenue and the Secretary of State for the Canada Revenue Agency and Financial Institutions wrote to the Standing Committee on Finance on Tuesday September 2, 2025 to offer to make themselves available to appear at the committee at the earliest possible opportunity to speak about the CRA’s 100-Day Plan to address service delays and access challenges;

That, as part of its study of the Auditor General’s report on CRA Contact Centres, the Standing Committee on Public Accounts invite Minister of Finance and National Revenue and the Secretary of State for the CRA and Financial Institutions to appear before the committee to provide an update on the progress made to date on the CRA’s 100-Day Plan.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Gérard Deltell, Anthony Housefather, Ned Kuruc, Stephanie Kusie, Sébastien Lemire, Tom Osborne, Kristina Tesser Derksen, Jean Yip — 8;

NAYS: — 0.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 1:09 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 1:14 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $2,250 for the study of the Report 5, Professional Services Contracts, of the 2024 Reports 5 to 7 of the Auditor General of Canada, be adopted.

At 1:24 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
