Minutes of Proceedings
Anthony Ostler, Eric Smith and Carey Frey made statements and, with Hartland Elcock, answered questions.
Raquel Dancho gave notice of the following motion:
That the committee report to the House that it condemns the use of forced labour in supply chains, especially in China; rejects unjustified American tariffs that threaten Canadian workers and industries; and calls on the Liberal government to strengthen and reinforce Canada’s existing ban on forced-labour imports and take more effective action to stop goods made with forced labour from entering Canada.
At 12:00 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.
At 12:21 p.m., the meeting was suspended.
At 12:51 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.
The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
At 12:55 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
