Tim Reuss, Charles Bernard, Rachel Doran and Daniel Breton made statements and answered questions.
At 11:59 a.m., the meeting was suspended.
At 12:09 p.m., the meeting resumed.
David Shipley, Travis Allan and Raymond Leury made statements and answered questions.
Raquel Dancho moved, — That the committee undertake a consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (C), 2025–26, referred to the committee; that the Minister of Industry and departmental officials be invited to testify; and that the committee report the votes back to the House no later than March 26, 2026.
On motion of Karim Bardeesy, it was agreed, — That the motion be amended by adding before the words “Supplementary Estimates (C), 2025-26” the following: “Main Estimates 2026-27 and”.
It was agreed, — The motion be amended by adding after the words “and departmental officials be invited to testify” the words “for at least two hours”.
The motion, as amended, read as follows:
That the committee undertake a consideration of the Main Estimates 2026-27 and Supplementary Estimates (C), 2025–26, referred to the committee; that the Minister of Industry and departmental officials be invited to testify for at least two hours; and that the committee report the votes back to the House no later than March 26, 2026.
At 1:23 p.m., the meeting was suspended.
At 1:28 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.
It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.
It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Canada's Defence Industrial Strategy: From Innovation to Readiness".
It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.
It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than Friday, March 20, 2026.
ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.
