Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, December 1, 2025, the committee resumed its study of issues related to Indian Act registration.

It was agreed, — That the committee hold a moment of silence to reflect on the tragedies in Tumbler Ridge and Kitigan Zibi.

Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak, Kelly Wolfe, Drew Lafond and Kyra Wilson made statements and answered questions.

At 9:23 a.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 9:28 a.m., the meeting resumed.

Pamela Palmater, Isaiah Bernard and Kiara LaBobe made statements and answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

On motion of Jaime Battiste, it was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the twenty-fifth session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII), the proposed budget in the amount of $85,305.56, for the committee’s travel to New York, United States of America, be adopted.

At 10:21 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
