Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, the committee commenced consideration of the subject matter of Clause 572 (Division 35) of Bill C-15, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on November 4, 2025.

The Minister made a statement and, with Élizabeth Pigeon and Valerie Gideon, answered questions.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $6,500, for the study of the subject matter of Clause 572 (Division 35) of Bill C-15, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on November 4, 2025, be adopted.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, November 24, 2025, the committee resumed its study of issues related to federally recognized Indigenous communities that do not have a land base, reserve or modern treaty.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $7,000, for the study of issues related to federally recognized Indigenous communities that do not have a land base, reserve or modern treaty, be adopted.

At 9:12 a.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 9:17 a.m., the meeting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a draft report.

At 9:24 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
