Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, May 4, 2026, the committee resumed its study of homelessness in Canada.

Kaite Burkholder Harris, Frédérick Bonner, Earl Thiessen, and Karen Kobussen made statements and, with Henry Chan, answered questions.

At 5:10 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 5:15 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.

Housing Starts in Relation to Federal Programs
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 5, 2026, the committee resumed its study of housing starts in relation to federal programs.

The committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a draft report.

2026 Centennial Flame Research Award
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(d) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, October 23, 2025, the committee commenced its study of the 2026 Centennial Flame Research Award.

It was agreed, — That Kim Atwood be the recipient of the 2026 Centennial Flame Research Award and be awarded $5,000.

At 5:30 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
