Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 5, 2026, the committee resumed its study of housing starts in relation to federal programs.

Jennifer Keesmaat and Mike Collins-Williams made statements and answered questions.

At 9:13 a.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 9:18 a.m., the meeting resumed.

At 9:18 a.m., Robert Morrissey took the Chair.

Isabelle Demers and Richard Lyall made statements and, with David Goulet, answered questions.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $1,000, for the study of Main Estimates 2026-27: Vote 1 under Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Votes 1 and 5 under Canadian Accessibility Standards Development Organization, Vote 1 under Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety and Votes 1 and 5 under Department of Employment and Social Development, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $21,950, for the study of homelessness in Canada, be adopted.

At 10:17 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
