Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the committee commenced its study of government mandates and key priorities.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 18, 2025, the committee resumed its study of youth employment in Canada.

Derek Nighbor, Sharif Mahdy and Julie-Ann Vincent made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Laila Goodridge moved, — That the committee resume debate on the motion moved on Thursday, October 23, 2025, which read as follows: That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Auditor General of Canada be invited to appear before the committee for two hours to speak and answer questions on the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care System report by November 28, 2025.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Rosemarie Falk, Garnett Genuis, Marilène Gill, Laila Goodridge, Colin Reynolds — 5;

NAYS: Jessica Fancy, Natilien Joseph, Annie Koutrakis, Jennifer McKelvie — 4.

The committee resumed consideration of the motion moved on Thursday, October 23, 2025.

At 1:09 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 1:16 p.m., the meeting resumed.

The debate on the motion continued.

At 1:32 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
