Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the committee resumed its study of the attribution of redfish quotas and exploratory lobster fishing licenses.

Camille Gagné, Jean Lanteigne and Carey Bonnell made statements and answered questions.

At 4:23 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 4:28 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Guy Gallant, Claudio Bernatchez and Jean-René Boucher made statements and answered questions.

At 5:16 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 5:20 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.

It was agreed, — That whereas the committee has committed to hearing witnesses regarding the granting of exploratory lobster fishing licenses in accordance with Standing Order 108, the committee agrees to hear additional witnesses, to understand the perspective of Indigenous peoples, as part of the testimony of a representative from the support group for Indigenous fisheries of the Côte-Nord, Agence Mamu Innu Kakussesht, and also call former Ministers of Fisheries and Oceans Dominic LeBlanc and Diane Lebouthillier to testify for one hour.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $36,050, for the study of the review of the Fisheries Act, be adopted.

At 5:30 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
