Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, September 15, 2025, the committee resumed its study of section 810 of the Criminal Code and women's safety.

The Minister of Public Safety made a statement and, with Tricia Geddes and Brian Larkin, answered questions.

At 4:28 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 4:31 p.m., the meeting resumed.

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada made a statement and answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $16,050, for the study of Bill C-225, An Act to amend the Criminal Code, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That recommendations for the draft report on the study of section 810 of the Criminal Code and women's safety be submitted to the clerk, in both official languages, no later than Friday, February 20, 2026.

At 5:31 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
