It was agreed, — That the proposed supplementary budget in the amount of $1,000, for the study of antifeminist ideology, be adopted.
At 11:08 a.m., the meeting was suspended.
At 11:09 a.m., the meeting resumed.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study on the impact of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies in Canada; that the study examine how DEI frameworks have shaped access to opportunities, workplace culture, institutional practices, and outcomes for underrepresented groups; that it further assess both the benefits and challenges associated with DEI implementation across public, private, and non-profit sectors; that the committee dedicate no fewer than four meetings to this study and, pursuant to Standing Order 109, request a government response.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study on the impact of economic precarity and housing conditions on the vulnerability of women in Canada, with a particular focus on the effects of social and affordable housing policies on the safety, health, and autonomy of women experiencing vulnerability; that the committee examine, among other things:
- the links between housing insecurity, gender-based violence, exploitation, and poverty;
- the barriers faced by women in accessing safe and stable housing, including single mothers, Indigenous women, immigrant women, women experiencing homelessness, and survivors of intimate partner or sexual violence;
- the effects of current social and community housing policies on preventing violence and stabilizing the living conditions of women;
- the financial, structural, and community supports needed to ensure safe and appropriate living environments for women experiencing vulnerability;
that the committee hold at least four meetings, hear from witnesses from the community sector, the housing sector, the gender-based violence field, and public health, and that it report its findings to the House; and that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study on the labour force impacts of menopause and perimenopause, with a focus on how awareness, education, workplace policies, and access to treatment can better support women’s long-term participation in the workforce; that the study examine opportunities to strengthen managerial training, improve workplace supports and accommodations, and enhance access to effective treatments that enable employees to remain healthy, productive, and fully engaged in their work; that the committee invite medical experts, labour organizations, employers, researchers, and individuals with lived experience to provide testimony; that the committee hold no fewer than four meetings to hear from witnesses; and that the committee report its findings and recommendations to the House; and that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the government table a comprehensive response.
