Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, September 15, 2025, the committee commenced its study of section 810 of the Criminal Code and women's safety.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, — That the deadline for the submission of briefs in relation to the study of section 810 of the Criminal Code and women’s safety be Friday, November 28, 2025, and that briefs not exceed two pages (approximately 1,000 words).

It was agreed, — That the clerk and analysts of the committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release to announce the committee's study of section 810 of the Criminal Code and women’s safety and to invite the public to submit briefs.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $500, for the study of the subject matter of Main Estimates 2025-26, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed supplementary budget in the amount of $500, for the study of gender-based violence and femicides against women, girls and gender-diverse people, be adopted.

At 5:24 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
