Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 18, 2025, the committee resumed its study of Canada and the forthcoming CUSMA review.

Barry Appleton, Lana Payne, and Vass Bednar made statements and answered questions.

At 4:32 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 4:39 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Anna Zalik, Brian Kingston, and Linda Hasenfratz made statements and answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $54,450, for the study of Canada and the forthcoming CUSMA review, be adopted.

On motion of Yasir Naqvi, ORDERED, — That, in relation to its studies on the subject matter of the upcoming CUSMA Review and Trade Diversification, the committee clerk prepare and present to the committee plans for six members of the committee to travel to:

• Washington, D.C., and Detroit, Michigan, in 2026, with a focus on the upcoming CUSMA Review;

• Brasília, Brazil, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2026, with a focus on the efforts to advance trade negotiations with the Mercosur trade group; and

That the necessary staff accompany the committee.

At 5:32 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
