Pursuant to the order of reference of Thursday, December 11, 2025, the committee commenced consideration of Bill C-13, An Act to implement the Protocol on the Accession of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership.

The Minister made statements and answered questions.

At 11:58 a.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 12:03 p.m., the meeting resumed.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of Bill C-13:

that the committee schedule two meetings to hear from witnesses;

that committee members submit amendments to the clerk by 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3; and

that the committee conduct clause-by-clause consideration of the bill on Thursday, February 5, 2026 and that the committee dedicate the number of meetings required for clause-by-clause consideration to be completed.

Mary-Catherine Speirs, Matthew Smith, and Evan Lewis answered questions.

At 12:55 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
