Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 18, 2025, the committee resumed its study of Canada and the forthcoming CUSMA review.

Arlene Dickinson, Catherine Fortin LeFaivre, Gaphel Kongsta, and Charles Dutil made statements and answered questions.

At 4:33 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 4:40 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of Canada and the forthcoming CUSMA review, the proposed budget in the amount of $125,077.12 for the committee’s travel to Washington, D.C. and the Detroit Metropolitan Area, Michigan in Winter/Spring 2026 be adopted; and that the clerk be authorized to purchase appropriate gifts and make the necessary arrangements for meals and a reception during the committee's travel.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of trade diversification, the proposed budget in the amount of $302,851.34 for the committee’s travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina and Brasilia, Brazil in Winter/Spring 2026 be adopted; and that the clerk be authorized to purchase appropriate gifts and make the necessary arrangements for meals and a reception during the committee's travel.

At 5:11 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
