Minutes of Proceedings
Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, May 4, 2017, the Committee proceeded to a briefing from the Analyst in relation to the question of privilege regarding the free movement of Members of Parliament within the Parliamentary Precinct.
At 10:45 a.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.
At 10:59 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 11:30 a.m., the sitting resumed in a televised session.
The Speaker of the House of Commons and Supt Mike O'Beirne made statements and, with Marc Bosc, answered questions.
Lisa Raitt and Maxime Bernier made statements and answered questions.
It was agreed, — That the Committee study the Main Estimates 2017-18 on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.
It was agreed, — That the clerk invite representatives of the Parliamentary Protective Service to appear on Thursday, May 11, 2017, in relation to the study of the question of privilege regarding the free movement of Members of Parliament within the Parliamentary Precinct.
At 1:03 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
