I can probably say it faster than the chair.

I move:

That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(i), the Committee hold a briefing session on the layout and function of the temporary House of Commons Chamber in the West Block; that the briefing be scheduled prior to the site visit of the West Block, pursuant to the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, June 2, 2016; and that these activities take place at the earliest practical opportunity.

What room are the Austrians in?

The Chair:

The Austrians are in room 362 East Block at four o'clock for one hour.

Mr. Scott Reid:

Just to be clear, is there a special structure? Do we just sit and listen to what they have to say and then respond?

The Chair:

No, there's no structure. They're interested in procedure, but they don't necessarily have anything to say and we don't necessarily have anything to say, so it's very informal. It's their members from the senate. Their senate is not actually elected; it's appointed by the regional legislatures. Their president is there, and some of the members.

Mr. Scott Reid:

They're appointed in a process similar to what was used for the U.S. Senate prior to 1913.

The Chair:

Okay.

Is there anything else?

I have to commend the committee on very good co-operation and work on the report. The give and take is very good. It's a very productive report, I think.
