It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motion adopted on Thursday, May 31, 2018, the meeting of Wednesday, June 6, 2018, be from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and that the Clerk adjust the panels of witnesses accordingly.
Nathan Cullen moved, — That the Clerk reiterate the Committee’s invitation to representatives from Twitter and Facebook to appear before the Committee on its study of Bill C-76, An Act to amend the Canada Elections Act and other Acts and to make certain consequential amendments; and that, if by 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, the witnesses have not accepted the Committee’s invitation to appear, Kevin Chan and Michele Austin be summoned to appear before the Committee on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at a time to be determined by the Chair and the Clerk of the Committee.
Debate arose thereon.
Scott Reid moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5” with the words “12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6”.
