The Standing Committee on Official Languages met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Mauril Bélanger, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, Eugène Bellemare, Jeannot Castonguay, Yvon Godin, Benoît Sauvageau, Raymond Simard and Yolande Thibeault.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Marion Ménard, analyst.
Witnesses: From the Fédération des communautés
francophones et acadienne du Canada: Georges Arès, President; Diane Côté,
Liaison Officer. From the Société Santé en français: Hubert Gauthier,
President; Armand Boudreau, Director General.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of March 20, 2003, the Committee commenced it study on the subject-matter of Bill C-202 and on health care in both official languages.
Georges Arès made a statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.
Hubert Gauthier made a statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.
At 10:56 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
