The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 3:37 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Maurizio Bevilacqua, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Carolyn Bennett, Maurizio Bevilacqua, Scott Brison, Roy Cullen, Ken Epp, Albina Guarnieri, Sophia Leung and John McCallum.

Acting Members present: Richard Marceau for Yvan Loubier.

Other Members Present: Charles Hubbard, Bill Blaikie

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Marc-André Pigeon and Alexandre Laurin, Researchers.

Witnesses: From the Government of Manitoba: The Hon. Greg Selinger, Minister of Finance; Ronald H. Neumann, Director, Intergouvernmental Affairs.

Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Monday, April 2, 2001, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-18, An Act to amend the Federal-Provincial Fiscal Arrangements Act (See Minutes of Proceedings, Tuesday, April 24, 2001, Meeting No. 12).

The Hon. Greg Selinger made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:56 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
