The Sub-Committee on International Trade, Trade Disputes and Investment of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 5:05 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Sarmite Bulte, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Sarmite Bulte, Murray Calder, Deepak Obhrai, Alex Shepherd, Bob Speller.

Acting Member present: Jean-Guy Chrétien for Richard Marceau.

Other member present: Bill Graham, Chair, Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Peter Berg; Research Officer.

From Committees and Parliamentary Associations: Roxanne Enman, Committee Clerk.

Witnesses: From the Agriculture, Food and Beverage Sectoral Advisory Group on International Trade: Don Knoerr, Co-Chair. From the The Asbestos Institute: Denis Hamel, Director. From the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance: David Paterson, Executive Director.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Sub-Committee resumed consideration of Canada's Economic relations with Europe. (See Minutes of Proceedings dated Wednesday, February 16, 2000, Meeting No. 6).

Don Knoerr, Denis Hamel and David Paterson each made a statement and answered questions.

At 6:36 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
